The Phase 1 expansion of the Port include: Study and perform hydrographic studies, soil investigation and complete detailed design of quay walls, dolphins, breakwaters, revetments, reclamation and external works. The detailed scope of works is as follows:Â
A. Dredging include deepening of existing navigational channel from – 6.0m to – 9.0m, turning circle, deepening of North Basin from -1m to – 8.5m and East basins and Port berth from -1.0 to -5.5m together with provision of navigational aids (buoys and beacons).
B. Berths (Quaywall) include Design and Construction of quay wall of length 504m at -8m and top level at +3.00 for small craft berth (for general cargo) to receive ships of capacity 15,000 DWT and 711m long quaywall at -5.5m top level at + 2.5m for coast guard berths respectively with rockfill foundation, superstructure with reinforced concrete precast blocks and situ capping beam together with wharf fittings. Construction of 2nos dolphins and walkways at ferry terminal.
C. Breakwaters and Revetments include design and construction of two rubble mound breakwaters of total length 2208m for safe berthing facilities. The breakwater will be constructed with foundation blanket, core rock, under layer and armour rocks and associated revetments.Â
D. External Works include asphalting, heavy duty concrete paving,concrete foundations for lighting poles, fencing and drainage pipeline

The main purpose of this contract is to abandon the existing underground pipeline between POL Pump House, the Storage Tanks and Fuel Recovery Unit of Diesel Fuel Facility at King Faisal Naval Base in Jeddah and replace
by constructing new pipeline.
The new pipeline construction involve two parts i.e; underground gravity pipeline of dia 50 m.m to 200 m.m. RTR (fibre glass) pipes and above ground pipeline of dia 100 m.m to 250 m.m carbon steel pipeline and sleeves at road crossings. Total pipe length 2,320m and valves 7nos.
The main activities involve; surveying the route of line, excavation of trench of pipeline, installation of pipeline, backfilling after leak tests. Installation of pipe sleepers supports, checking of stress analysis and testing of pipes.

Supply and return seawater cooling pipelines to and from Yanbu Industrial City II together with a spare supply / return pipeline consist of GRP pipes. Each pipeline (3 nos.) is approximately 6 Km in length, its diameter varies from 1m up to 2.8m and are to be laid in common trench. The contract includes procurement and construction of structural steel hose towers for berths 31 to 35, to accommodate 24 boom hoses. The work covers construction of hose tower main steel structure, pipe supports/racks structures, fire water system and safety equipment, potable water system, nitrogen supply system, mechanical cranes, electrical instrumentation & control, telecommunication and complete operator’s shelter with all finishes and accessories.
The scope of work for the Contract No. 2 included concrete repair and rehabilitation works for various areas and structures of desalination plants under Phase I & II as follows:
Construction of 3 berths to handle seagoing tankers ranging from 3,000 dwt to 80,000 dwt. For each berth the jetty structure consist of a loading platform, 5 nos. breasting dolphins, 4 nos. mooring dolphins, an access trestle, 6 nos. catwalks, all supported on tubular steel piles, concrete works and associated structural steel together with wharf fittings. The mechanical works include HVAC, firewater system, potable water system, slop water systems, substation, cables, switchgear, lighting and navigational aids. Also includes roads, paving’s, culverts and building works.
Procurement and Construction of hose tower for berth 37 to accommodate 20-30 boom hoses. The contract includes the following main works:Â

The contract included procurement and construction of two new berths 34 and 35, to handle sea going petrochemical tankers ranging from 3,000 to 80,000 dwt.
Each berth consisted of a reinforced concrete loading platform, an approach roadway, a low level steel pipe rack and berthing and breasting dolphins interconnected by tubular steel catwalks, all supported on driven tubular steel piles with cathodic protection.
The berths are complemented by a flexible mooring and fendering system consisting of five breasting dolphins and four mooring dolphins fitted with fenders and quick release hooks.

The concrete repair and rehabilitation works for Contract No. 1 are follows:Â
The Contract included engineering, procurement and construction for expansion of seawater cooling supply and return lines to serve industrial growth and to the growth in the steam power generation and desalination plant and to improve reliability of seawater supply in northern sector petroleum area.
The major items of work involved are supply and installation of FRPÂ pipes, including excavation, sheet piling, dewatering and backfilling.
Construction of reinforced concrete chambers, access manhole, outfall structures and thrust blocks.Â
The Contract also included 15 KV cables, 1125 KVA secondary unit stations and cathodic protection works.
Procurement and construction contract involving the following major works:Â
The main purpose of the project was to increase seawater cooling system capacity at Jubail industrial city by the construction of the second seawater cooling pumping plant and auxiliary facilities to meet the demand of water by the industries. The second pumping plant will increase a total combined capacity of189 cu.m./sec.
Civil, intake and building works:
The works covered under this contract included extension of dredged intake channel and supply channel, pumping plant workshop, headworks, electrical equipment building, chlorination plant building and pumphouse.
A third standby generator, one boat launching ramp, one VIP pier, a workshop substation, a mosque and new control panels to be installed in the existing control building.Â
Electrical, mechanical and instrumentation works:Â
Installation, operation, testing and commissioning of 14 seawater cooling pumps each of 2MW capacity and 13.5 m3/sec capacity, with associated chlorination equipment, four drum screens, twenty eight headworks sluice gates, chlorination gates and drainage gates. One standby gas turbine generator, electrical equipment and cables, two gantry cranes and one workshop crane.Â
Chlorination distribution pipework and valves, seawater cooling pump discharge piping. Electrical cabling conduits, fittings, cable tray for lighting, grounding, cathodic protection and fire alarm system.
Also included are surface water drainage, foul water drainage, potable water system, oil water and emergency acid drainage system, treated water irrigation system and oil spill protection system. Pumphouse Cofferdam size 116.5m x 64.5m and depths 15.7m and 17.7m
The subcontract covers execution, completion and maintain the following works related to the installation of concrete pressure pipes for cooling water system:
The scope of work of the contract consists of the procurement and construction of the expansion to the potable water production capacities at the existing R.O water treatment plant (wtp). The upgrade and associated support facilities include raw water supply system, potable water distribution networks, addition of a potable water distribution network and the addition of a potable water pump at the north west station. The expansion of the R.O. plant include the new installation of three 7,570 cubic meter per day water plants.
The expansion of the existing water treatment facilities will include a new pump station consisting of four pumps, four new raw water wells, four replacement raw water and offsite potable water and brine pipelines. The scope of work includes all associated civil, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works.
The modification works under the contract for the existing industrial waste water treatment plant and pump stations are described as below:
Stage I Works:
1. Removal of old and installation of new following items:
– All lagoon liners for the seven wastewater lagoons.
– All aerators and the submersible cables from the aerators to the motor control panel.
– All lagoon sluice gates actuators and monitoring devices.
2. Replacing existing pumps with larger capacity pumps in emergency pump station no. 1
3. Installation of an effective oil removal system
4. Modifications to electrical cabling and installation of 4 pumpalternators
Stage II Works:
1. Installation of 4 nos. new dual media pressure filters.
2. Replacement of existing control system for the filters.
3. Modification as required to the chlorination system
4. Installation of new Motor Control centre, instrument
panel, chlorine gas detectors and replacing the existing fire alarm system
The contract is for the supply on a turnkey basis of a desalination plant to
be installed in Yanbu.
The scope of works included :
– four desalination units of 35,900 m3/day each
– seawater system and chlorination
– CO2 plant and chemical dosing system
– utility piping system
– substation and electricity system
– lighting and earthing system
– cathodic protection system
– instrumentation and computer control for the desalination units
– buildings, roads, bridges, sewers and warehouse
– fence and gates and landscaping
The major works for the contract include excavation of seabed,
construction of shoreline protection and scour protection for
outfall channel.
Total excavation : 8,709 cu. m.
Rocks for shore Protection : 19,600 cu. m.
Contract for the construction of temporary pumphouse cofferdam
and permanent seawall segments.
The work included the installation of cofferdam walls and anchors,
cofferdam well point and deep well dewatering system, seawall
sheet piles, anchors and tie backs and seawall and tie back area
back filling.
The contract for the repairing of damages caused to the buildings
due to fire. The work included the repair of damaged wall and roof
panels, false ceiling and steel structures and erection /
construction of the same. Also included the repair of cracks on
floors, restoration of decking system, painting of doors, windows
and steel structures and fixing of fans.
The major maintenance and repair works under the contract are
as follows:
– Refurbishment of Marine Gate Components
– Refurbishing of deteriorated areas of 294 piles in the splash zone
– Refurbishing of 98 ladders and fixings etc. including replacement
of deteriorated components
– Cleaning of 98 nos. Stainless Steel Nets and Sinkers
– Refurbishing of 294 nos. joints between Pile and Pile Head
Assembly to a depth of 500 mm
– Refurbishing of Pile Head Assembly
– Removal, refurbishing and reinstallation of 2 nos. mesh columns
The subcontract works include the following main items:
1. Construction of Seawater Pump station.
2. Temporary works associated with seawater pump station including sheet piled cofferdam.
3. Interface work at seawater pump station including supply and installation of crane girders.
4. Construction of reinforced concrete collecting channel including seal pits, pump sumps,
access manhole, stepladders and connection to the seawater discharge channel.
5. Temporary works at collecting channel including shore protection, fencing and storm water
drainage.
6. Engineering works related to seawater pump station and collecting channel.
7.Site installation and services.
The Subcontract included the following offshore civil works for a 100 mg/day capacity MSF
Desalination Plant :
1. Demolition of fence, cabins, steel tower, concrete blocks and removal and relocation of
lights and shore protection.
2. Construction of 192 m long seawater intake comprising of 3 nos. RTR pipes of 3700 mm dia.
and installed at depths from – 10.0 m to -17.0 m
3. Construction of 3 nos. intake head structures 16 m in length and tapering in shape (3.7 m to
16.0 m), with 30 nos. underwater steel tubular piles of 660 mm dia. Dolphins protection with
12 nos. tubular piles of 1200 mm dia.
4. Construction of 436 m long reinforced concrete discharge channel of 10 m x 4.5 m size and
an outfall structure 90 m long on 660 mm dia. steel tubular piles.
5. 40 m long sheet piled jetty with concrete cope beam face.
The Subcontract covered all civil works necessary for a Reverse Osmosis desalination plant
consisting of 2 units @ of 16.9 Million USG/day capacity. The major works being as under:
– R.O. Plant building – Treatment Building
– Electrical Substation Buildings and Office Building – Pumphouse
– Seawater Intake Pipelines and Basin – Brine Discharge Culvert

1.Al Baidha Facilities:
– Development of an area of 135 X 107 m. to required elevation by construction fill and compaction and to provide
Riprap protection, stone topping, etc.
– Construction of one athletic facility building and two barrack buildings.
– Construction of concrete paved training area and sidewalks.
– Construction of asphalt concrete paved area.
– Construction of underground concrete tanks, one for potable water storage and other for sewage
holding/septic tank.
– To provide complete utility system and appurtenance like water system, sewer system, electrical and telephone
facilities, etc.2.Crude Oil Terminal Pier Facilities:
– Construction of a concrete slab pier, 44m. long supported on pre-cast concrete caissons including necessary
dredging works to achieve a minimum boat draft of 2.50 m.
– Construction of single story Pier Guard House building of 20 sq. m. area.
– Construction of an underground sewerage holdings septic tank of reinforced concrete with 15.50 M3 capacity.
– Demolition and removal of existing Frontier forces Portable Barrack buildings.
– Provide complete utility system like water supply, sewer system, effluent leaching fields, electrical and telephone
facilities.
The subcontract works for the contract includes laying, jointing and testing
of pipes for seawater circulation to/from condenser of CC1026 and CC1018.It
also includes construction of 211 m long discharge culvert. The major

The project includes upgrading of two existing Breasting Dolphins for a
Tanker Berth by the installation upon each Dolphin of two additional tubular
steel piles of outer dia. 1067 mm x 34 m driven 13 m (-30 m toe elevation) into
the seabed together with modification to the structural steel deck to
accommodate the piles and a new fendering system to suit the larger size of
vessel (up to 80,000 DWT) Total piling work: 2 no. x 2 no x 34m = 136 m. Also
included was the design and installation of Cathodic Protection System for
the four piles to suit the existing system.
Construction of civil works for Tank Farm, Causeway and certain buildings.
The subcontract for civil works includes:-Construction of Tank Ring-Wall
Foundation.-Fire water pumping station-Dikes and Slopes-Piling works at
causeway for steel structures as catways for supporting new
pipeline.-Evaporation Ponds and Swells-Seawater intake-Roads &
pavement and fencing.
A Marine works project for the construction of 180 m. long Quay wall, 140 m
long Breakwater and 1.2 km long Causeway.
-Dredging of Access Channel and Harbour basin.
Total quantity of Dredging: 250,000 cu.m.
-Surfacing of 26,000 sq. m. area with Asphalt
-Various External Services including water pipeline, electrical services
and construction of a Substation.
